Well the season premiere is here. The episode opens with two cops on a stakeout. One of the cops takes a bathroom break, and while he is gone his partner is shot. Detective Eames and Goren pick the case up. It turns out that the cop killed was Eames’s husband’s partner and was there when he was shot in the line of duty.
Goren and Eames are my favorite detective’s on ‘CI’. The detective’s start looking into a possibility that this murder is connected to Detective Dotton’s death. The next day the other witness in her husband’s death was shot too. The other cop in the stakeout said he saw who killed his partner, but Goren proved that he was wrong. They go and talk to the man convicted in her husbands murder. He proclaims his innocence, saying that the drug dealer that said he saw him was lying to protect somebody.
Goren with his holmes’esque style of detective work seems to believe him. He reluctantly tells Eames that he has to look into her husbands case to try to find the truth. Using modern DNA techniques they find a piece of trace DNA that doesn’t match the man convicted or the witness. The witness had testified that the killer was smoking the cigarette that was found at the scene. The gun that killed the cop and the witness was found dumped near where the witness was shot. It turns out to be a standard issue gun for Vietnam soldiers. While interviewing the convicted man’s father they find out that he was a Vietnam veteran. After a little detecting Goren figures out that the killer is the wrongfully convicted man’s son. So all that is left now is to solve the husbands murder. The detectives start by shaking down the witnesses posse. On of his friends is now an ex-con so they lean on him with the threat of revoking his parole. He tells them that the witness had a kid following him around that was waving around a glock. They go to inform the family that they have caught the man that murdered their son. It was there that they found out that during the time of the old murder his cousin was visiting with them. The cousin is a emergency room doctor in Queens now, so they go to question him. With the right questioning he gives himself up. Hey check out my last post ‘Tear Asunder’.

I have to say that the new show, ‘Life’ on NBC, is a breath of fresh air for the crime drama genre. The combination of very sharp writing and an excellent cast makes this show great. I think the premise is great, and this opens the way for many unique situations not available in other crime drama shows. Being a man who was wrongfully convicted of a triple murder, he has a unique take on the crimes. He seems to have a certain empathy for the criminals that stems from the twelve years in prison. This episode starts with a dead bride killed on her wedding night. With a little searching they found the husband drinking himself into stupor by the pool, covered in blood.
He says that he found her that way, and then started drinking. When Charlie attempts to put the cuffs on the new widow, they start to fight until they both fall in the pool.
They continue fighting underwater until Charlie’s partner Dani zaps the pool with about 900 volts. After the interrogation Charlie decides that he didn’t kill his new wife. They ask the friends about the couple only to be told how great they were together. The attorney for the husband was also a friend of the bride, so when they go to interview him they find a shrine to her thats in the form of a journal with her head on other bodies. The whole time they are conducting the investigation the I.A. is pressuring Dani for dirt on Charlie. Charlie is looking at the photos from the wedding when he has an epiphany. He keeps seeing one of the friends taking pictures in the pictures, but doesn’t have them. When they confront her she spills the beans. Her brother was trying to steal the money gifts from the wedding. The little sister saw him murder her. Another case closed with unique detective work. By the way check out my last link ‘The News’.

Well tonight’s episode of ‘SVU’ was very engrossing. It starts out with the chief telling them that there was a murder suspect that the normal P.D. has handed off to them. They brace themselves for another of the many perverts they see everyday when a seven year old kid walks in. It is obvious from this start that the case is going to be unique.
The case just gets stranger when the district attorney decides to prosecute the seven year old boy for murder. The case looks pretty basic in a very sad kind of way. The little girl that was shot had a crush on the boy and constantly tried to kiss him. Although nobody knows what could possess the boy to kill the girl, the cops proceed to try to find out where the child got the gun. The parents are clean cut people who don’t own a gun as are the other parents in the child’s class. When the ballistics come back on the gun, it turns out that someone used the gun to kill a drug dealing the night before the shooting at the school. One of the people involved in the shooting turns out to be the great grandson of the boy’s babysitter. Upon closer inspection the great grandson was using the boy as a lookout during drug deals. When the drug deal went south, the boy saw the murder. After the killers left the boy grabbed the gun and ran.
He took it to school because he was scared of the killers.
When the killer shows up outside of the playground the kid tries to scare him away with the gun. The gun goes off and an innocent girl gets shot. Well with the new information the cops grab the killer ,and the D.A. drops the case.
This story doesn’t end on a happy note though, as a twelve year old boy kills him the same day. By the way, check out my last post ‘Dangerous Son’.

Tonight is the premiere of season 9 of ‘law and order SVU’. I’m very excited to see what’s in store for us. For a while season 9 seemed to be in doubt when Christopher Meloni and Mariska Hargitay entered into negotiations for more money. All the disputes have been settled. Now the ninth season promises to be more exciting than ever before. With strong story telling, the already superb cast, and tons of new guest appearances this season I’m prepared to be in awe. I have always thought that the formula of ‘SVU’ and ‘CI’ was a successful one. Keep your eyes here for the episode recap as well as information on upcoming episodes as well. In other ‘law and order’ news ‘CI’ returns on October 4 with their new season. Actress Julianne Nicholson will be on maternity leave as the season starts. It is going to be interesting to see how they write Detective Wheeler’s temporary departure from the show.
Her temporary replacement will be the accomplished actress Alicia Witt as Detective Nola Falacci.
Her acting credits include the films ‘Two Weeks Notice’ and ‘The Upside Of Anger’. Make sure to check out my other latest posts Brushing Up and Coming Monday.

The time is coming soon. It’s only two days away from the start of the “law and order svu” new season on nbc. I have been trying to brush up on my SVU by catching up on reruns on USA. Today was an interesting episode that I had not seen before. A prostitute is walking down the sidewalk when out of nowhere a car intentionally jumps the curb and hits the woman. As the story unfolds we find out that the hit by the car was not the cause of death. After she was hit, the driver of the car gets out and beats the woman to death. It turns out that there were three people in the car one of which kills himself two days after the murder. The remaining two suspects
say that a video game that they play influenced them to commit the murder. But in the end justice prevails with two guilty verdicts.
Also I have news that Cynthia Nixon will be the first guest star of the new season as a woman with multiple personality disorder. I’m certain that they will start this season very strong as this is one of the best crime dramas on the air.
I saw a preview of the next episode ,and it was entrancing. This will be one of the best guest appearances of the new season. P.S. Check out my “CSI” and “Criminal Intent” posts.

The new season is starting monday and I’m excited to see the CSI Miami cast get back at on the streets. My sources tell me that the first episode is called “dangerous son”. All the details are a little murky ,but it is my understanding that Horatio finds out out that a suspect in a hostage situation may in fact be his son. Talking about starting the season out with a bang. I cant wait to see how this plays out.

Last night I watched an episode of CI on USA. The story revolved around a double murder that was staged to look like a murder suicide. Everything is not as it seems though when we learned that a piece of art that the art dealer certified as authentic was in fact a very clever forgery. This is only found out after after it comes to light that the real painting sank in a nazi submarine. On top of everything else it turns out that there numerous other paintings sank as well. All the while dopplegangers of these paintings have been spread around quite thoroughly. The detective not only topple the forgey ring but also catch the murderer.

Today I watched the original crime drama Law and Order on tnt today. Like an old reliable friend I know that law and order will always come thru with a good strong story built on the strong formula that made law and order the crime drama to watch. While I do thoroughly enjoy watching CI and SVU nothing beats the original. Starting with a little glimpse of the crime to be, and then straight to the beat cops we go. They collect evidence, interveiw witnesses, and follow leads in the steady pattern of logic until they find a good suspect. Then they hand it over toi the D.A. who will build the case from there. With twists and turns both on the streets and in the courtrooms I get all the suspence without having to watch them do an autopsy(CSI) or the other grossout moments in most of the newer shows. I guess that was the golde

My internet has been kind of glitchy so bear with me. Well over the weekend I caught one of the best episodes of CSI: Maimi that I have ever seen. It starts out with a junkie( who is the stereotypical jittery skinny guy scared of the cops.) chasing a guy in a business suit probably to rob him. Flash forward to one dead junkie. His neck was broken so presumably the mugging didn’t go quite the way he wanted it to. But when the body turns out to have been exposed to radiation specifically iodine 321. This is where the storyline really fleshes out. For the first time on csi miami that I have ever seen the second murder victim is still alive and kicking. Poisoned but still alive for a couple of days. She was an Erin Brockovichesque eco rights civil lawyer fighting for the little people against big business. I think that this story hit on a lot of relevant points about the accountability of large corporations. And in the end after all the twists and turns it ends up being a simple stalker who happened to get mugged by the junkie on the way to kill the girl that turned down his advances. Oh and by the way I liked the reference to Hamlet’s friend horatio as the first csi priceless.

Well I tried very hard today to watch the pandora’s box episode of numb3rs but the cbs website was glitching real bad. Here’s as far I got There was a plane crash and somebody shot the first cop on the scene. And the way the crash was spread out it had 1000 more pounds than could be accounted for. Thats it. Was it drugs maybe or money or stolen things? I dont know because a fortune 500 company can’t keep a website that runs video. I’m sorry guys I will find out what happened and fill you in.

Hey guys so I’m back. So i have been down with the flu for the past couple of days sorry about that. Well over the weekend I caught the csi miami marathon on a & e. It was all about the murders that happened in and around nightclubs. All in all I’d say it was pretty good. Considering the show is based in maimi there was no shortage in goo episodes. My personal favorite was the arson in the nightclub. At the start it looked like a basic rewrite of the news story about the fire at the great white concert. If you don’t remember what happened, it was a great tragedy. The pyrotechnics caught the building on fire, but the building was not up to the fire code. The fire exits were blocked(just like in the show). But in this story over fifty real people died. Well the similarities in these two stories made this seem very plausible. And I have to say the wannabee fireman starting the fire was classic. P.S. If you noticed Isn’t Caruso looking kind of old?

This was a pretty interesting episode of csi. Basically this chubby boxer makes many enemies who all wanted to kill and while they all may have tried the thing that killed him was a freaking lawn chair. The irony is resounding. He was shot with a crossbow, Injected with rattlesnake venom and fed food he was allergic to. He survived all that just to die because of a lawnchair. Im not saying he didnt deserve it but damn. I’m speechless…
