Jerry Bruckheimer
I’ve been chasing a toddler all week while my friend from out of town trains for a new job. So I’m trying to catch up on posting what had been in the back of my mind.
The new movie, Deja Vu, directed by Jerry Bruckheimer, makes me wonder just how this man manages his time. He’s got movies and a number of television shows (CSI, CSI Miami, CSI NY, Justice, The Amazing Race, Close To Home, Cold Case, Without A Trace) He did both Pirates Of The Caribbean movies. He’s working on a second National Treasure movie, the third Pirates movie, Prince of Persia, and G-Force.
This man must have no free time!

Being a producer, isn’t like directing though. He puts up the money, then goes on to his next project. Then after it is done he has the final say on the final cut. I doubt he really has anything to do with his TV shows except for making bucket loads of money off of CSI syndication rights.

There’s more to it than that. A producer hires the directors, gets final say in casting, creates the budgets, contracts, purchases movie rights, scripts, and so on. I’m sure he has staff who helps, but he has to give final say in most matters.

LOL, it’s pretty easy to make all those TV shows when they’re such blatant copies of one another lol.

What show isn’t a copy of something else? OC - Melrose Place, Knots Landing, any of the soaps, Dallas…
Lost - Lord Of The Flies, Lost In Space, Land Of The Lost, even some Star Trek, and definitely Gilligan’s Island.
Crime Drama really has to be similar to each other. There is a crime, there is an investigation, and there is a resulting court trial.
The characters are what make each show unique.
