Life on Mars is Cancelled

Bad news for Life On Mars fans. The show will not be returning for a second season. ABC has decided to finish the series for this run only, completing its seventeen episode season order. The series finale will be written to wrap up the story lines and loose ends. It should explain why Sam Tyler’s character was able to go back in time.

Life On Mars, based on the British series was not doing quite well on its 10 PM slot, Thursdays, after Grey’s Anatomy.

The series stars Jason O’ Mara, Harvey Keitel, Michael Imperioli and Gretchen Mol. In the US version, Josh Applebaum, Andre Nemec and Scott Rosenberg where the creative people behind it.

“Home Is Where You Hang Your Holster” — After New York City Councilman Bobby Prince is unexpectedly caught with a hooker during a police raid on a motel, he shares a stunning secret with Detective Sam Tyler. The mysterious Councilman’s haunting words shatter Sam’s world, leaving him with more questions than answers. Meanwhile, a chaotic shooting at the 1-2-5 causes Lieutenant Hunt to call a lockdown at the precinct house. Adding to the electric atmosphere, family tensions explode as Hunt and his daughter, Maria, confront each other. And change is definitely in the air when Ray introduces Annie to his wife, Denise, on “Life on Mars,” WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 18 (10:02-11:00 p.m., ET) on the ABC Television Network.

“Life on Mars” stars Jason O’Mara as Detective Sam Tyler, Harvey Keitel as Lieutenant Gene Hunt, Michael Imperioli as Detective Ray Carling, Gretchen Mol as Annie Norris and Jonathan Murphy as Detective Chris Skelton.

Guest starring are Laura Benanti as Denise Carling, Maggie Siff as Maria Belanger, John Cenatiempo as Sizable Ted, Corey Stoll as Russell/Detective Ventura, Armand Schultz as Councilman Prince, Quisha Saunders as Misty/ Elena, Annie Meisels as the bride, Rene Ifrah as the groom, Eric Chan as Chinese delivery man, Hector Lincoln as the pimp, Jason Kravits as Jerry, Laura Esterman as Sue Moyer, Malachy McCourt as the Wizard, Royce Johnson as man in uniform number one and Sharon Puterman as clerk.
