Leverage Gets a Renewal
Monday, February 2nd, 2009
TV Guide is reporting that the Ocean’s Eleven caper type of TV show, Leverage, is getting its second season renewal. Apparently, the drama series has received nee fifteen episode orders from TNT, where the program is airing at the nine PM time slot.
Although not getting quite the buzz as its other action/drama series counterparts, the renewal signals that TNT is quite happy with the way the show is performing. Well, it could be because the show is #1 in their time slot, despite averaging only 3.2 million viewers (this is cable TV anyway).
And you would be happy about this show, too, if you watch this one regularly. Leverage is a good escape. Aside from Ocean’s Eleven, it also reminds me of the way The A-Team was in the 80’s.
The series stars Timothy Hutton, a former insurance investigator who now leads a ban of con artists. Theirs is a complex set-up in that, they take jobs with this Robin Hood mentality (robbing the rich and privileged to help the poor and oppressed). They’re not just doing this to rip off the innocent ones.
The series also stars Gina Bellman, Christian Kane, Aldis Hodge and Beth Riesgraf.
