CBS Orders 13 episodes of new cop drama

Thursday, February 19th, 2009

images It would have to be the first series confirmed ordered a full season for Fall 2009.

The cop series, The Bridge, which is about a union leader/cop dealing with crimes on the street and corruption in his police department, has just been confirmed for 13 episodes by CBS the other other.

The Bridge stars Aaron Douglas, Paul Popowich, Inga Cadranel, Stuart Margolin. It may be considered an import as this production is a partnership between the eye network and CTV of Canada, its largest broadcast network. These two companies have previously co-produced Flashpoint, which aired to good reviews last summer.

The Bridge will begin production in Toronto in a few months.

Flashpoint, meanwhile, is doing fine in its second season run on the Friday timeslot.

CSI NY Nabs Katherine McPhee

Wednesday, February 18th, 2009

24351_KatherineMcPhee_SP_IdolFinal1

Former American Idol runner-up Katherine McPhee is going to appear in an upcoming episode of CSI: New York this season. She is scheduled to play a singer in this crime series and as EW has reported, will also be singing in some scenes.

The singer-actress is no stranger to gigs like this because before American Idol, she was actually doing some acting first. She was last scene in the movie The House Bunny starring Anna Farris. She is scheduled to work on her first starring movie opposite David Annable from Brothers and Sisters, in the romantic comedy, Wedlock.

As for her singing career, Katherine McPhee has just signed a new record deal and is slowly working on her new album with Verve Records, under Universal Music. This would have to be her second album, scheduled for release late this year.

Charisma Carpenter To Appear on CSI

Wednesday, February 18th, 2009

charisma carpenter Buffy alum Charisma Carpenter has been signed to guest star on CSI, TV Guide reports the other day.

The episode she will appear on is scheduled to air much later this season (or three episodes following the one for this week), but it seems the actress has apparently finished filming her scenes and has called the experience “fun and memorable.”

Charisma’s role is that of a skydiver in the episode Descent of Man.

The actress, of late, has been keeping herself very busy with guest appearances. She is expected to also be seen on Dollhouse and Private Practice this season but has also worked on a project where she is a star herself in the Sci-Fi Channel original movie, House of Bones, which is still unaired.
